ICICI Bank has launched recognition system for its customers which can identify and authenticate a customer on his voice. This technology works on voice prints that will comprise more than 100 characteristics such as voice modulation, speed, accent and pronunciation etc. it would be preserved against customers account and will be used to authenticate the details every time which customers call back. It would relieve them from remembering lengthy number of their account and debit/credit card and pin number etc. It is considered more secure as such characteristics are specific to a person and it would be difficult to emulate it. Hence it has potential to increase security and convenience.
ICICI Bank has become the first bank to introduce this system and facilitate convenient transactions with banks by it 33 million customers and card users. It would be of great help to those customers who use smart phones and will facilitate secure and hand free alternative to the traditional on screen commands on smart phones.
